aMaizin Maze Disabled Initiative
aMaizin Maze have launched a disabled initiative in a drive to establish an integrated Adventure Park.
A pack is now available outlining how as part of their corporate social responsibility initiatives, businesses can support the addition of integrated disabled facilities in the aMaizin Adventure Park. This pack has already been sent to a number of local companies offering them opportunities to become involved with individual items or groups of equipment that has considered the needs of those with a disability.
’We have become a popular attraction with various disabled groups who find the diversified nature of the Adventure Park means that most groups can utilise various parts of the attraction’ commented Kristina Le Feuvre – joint owner of the aMaizin Maze.
’The theme for 2006 is ’Journey through the Jungle’ and we are hoping to make the Adventure Park a journey of fun and excitement for all groups of people, regardless of ability’ said Carlton Le Feuvre. ’We have just created a new management role - Marketing and Projects Manager and we are delighted that Micky Tostevin who is already proving to be a dynamic member of our team has taken on this project as an initiation!’
Micky Tostevin is enjoying his initial project for the aMaizin Maze. ’It is vitally important that in any type of recreation or play, disabled people aren’t excluded but are encouraged to participate with the activities on offer’ commented Micky. ’This type of integration is increasingly popular in America where it has achieved great success, but it is still a reasonably innovative project for Great Britain. This type of project benefits the whole community as families with disabled children find it difficult to engage in activities where the whole family and friends can participate. This can cause alienation not only for the disabled child but also for the able bodied. I am delighted to have been involved in this project from conception and hope it will be well supported to enable the equipment installed to be as diverse as possible’
’We have a number of items of equipment that we would like to add to the Adventure Park’ said Kristina Le Feuvre. ’This equipment will offer excitement and challenges to all, but most importantly it can be utilised by those with disabilities. We are not restricting the equipment solely for the wheelchair bound but are offering activities to stimulate motor skills, sight, hearing and tactile skills as well
